Testing 32bits vs 64bits performances
The following test was performed using two Vultr VPS instances, more specifically:
Servers Instances
- debian 8 32bits 768MB
vs
- debian 8 64bits 768MB
CPU benchmark
- Software installed: 'mbw' and 'sysbench'
results shows no difference between the instances
Memory use comparison
- Installed daemon to have some processes that holds memory
apache2 postgresql mysql-server tomcat8
The results shows that 64bit instance uses ~40 to ~60MB more then 32bit ones in the two just rebooted servers with the same daemons running.
